Why reward the bank and auto industry for stupidity?
Auto Industry -- Why bail out an industry that refused to change until it was to late? Why bail out an industry with a Union that's helping drive it into the ground? A bail out won't work in the long run. It can't unless the current management of all three big auto makers step down and are replaced with management that knows something about running a business. Also, the Unions need to be gotten rid of. They aren't helping anyone. All Unions do is force business costs up which in turn help cause the current problems. Unions have outlived their usefulness. The only thing they are good for is the worthless worker that doesn't want to do any work.
Banking Industry -- I find it interested how people blame the Bush administration for the banking collapse. If you give loans to people you know can't repay, eventually it will come back to haunt you. The banks were writing home loans to almost anyone, even though they knew it wouldn't be paid back. The people that are being foreclosed on, you knew you couldn't afford the loan so too bad for you. They shouldn't be bailed out either. They knew the terms of the contract when they signed it. It's right there in black and white. Not really a hard concept to figure out.
SO NO BAIL OUT!!!!!!
If the govt. bails them out, at the very least force management to resign without compensation.
