Because of the way our elections are run and the worthless electoral college Alaska's votes for president don't count. Alaska isn't the only state but it's the one that comes to mind first. The election was already decided long before Alaska's polls closed. I though everybody's vote was supposed to count. It's kinda sad. What's the point of voting for president in that state and the other states that don't count?
In my world the elections would take place the first weekend of November. Both Saturday and Sunday and the hours would all be the same. Forget the time zones. All polls would close at a specific Eastern time. I would also get rid of the Electoral College. With all our technology and computers, we don't need the Electoral College. We would then go by popular vote. That way everybody's vote would count.
